Incidentally, Shrewsbury Services is the 'London' name. Locally it's known as 'Bayley's Island' cos the fomer Bayley's garden centre is next door. Now it's one of those national chain things. The Highways Agency has just completed upgrading the roundabout - shellgrip and traffic lights, so it's safer to get out. There are no lights on the exit road from the services though. It's a sharp left turn onto the A5 west, and even with the lights cars still go round at warp speed, so do be careful.

Ok, final heads up for those meeting at Shrewsbury.

We aim to get there for 8, and will be leaving NO LATER than 8.45, earlier if everyone has got there. Once the last arrivees have arrived and filled up we'll scoot straight off. It's not that we don't want to talk to you, but I NEED my sausage sarnie and we can all talk once we get to the Ponderosa.

Please make sure to fill your bikes to the brim.................it's around 100 miles before we'll be able to fill up again.

If any day trippers would like to pm me for my mobile number, they can then let me know if they aren't coming, so we aren't worrying about where they are.
