Default Leaking water

Just back from a great spin, really stretched her legs but i appear to have developed a leak from the thermostat housing. There is water dripping from the seam.
It will be a few days before i get a chance to take a good look at it.
Have any of you guys seen this before?
I'm hoping some instant gasket will take care of it...

It's rare. Have a go with instant gasket but don't use loads of the stuff, just a small smear. You want to avoid pushing any film of it into the cooling system.

She got worked real hard today. On her limit trying to keep up with much bigger bikes over a couple of hundred miles.
Do you think i might have pushed her a little too hard?
Built up too much pressure in the system or something?

Nah I ragged the buggerance out of mine 2 up chasing a midget wearing a sheep all over scotland and back and nothing went bang.

I would also imagine the hoses would fail before the thermostat gasket due to pressure alone.

Yeah, pretty stupid question.
I'll try sealing it...

If you are removing it to put gasket sealant on why not just replace the gasket while it is off?????????????
