OMO - Video Senders - Preferably wireless
Afternoon all
I though I'd ask here as theres always someone whos knows something here We are decorating our bedroom (having moved in nearly three years ago) we are getting a television in our room and I want to link it up to my Virgin Tivo box but running cables is not going to be possible (due to having to lift carpets and the upper half of the exterior being tiled) I have seen wireless AV sender (or digisender) and wondered if anyone can recommend one or has experience wih them. The bedroom in directly above the lounge so no far to transmit. I have read that the 2.4ghz sender suffer badly from interference as Wi-Fi and cordless phones etc also run on this frequency, I have seen 5.8ghz versions which may suit me better I think, I do have dual band wi-fi but that runs on 2.4ghz and 5ghz so in theroy should not interfere. Any advice greatly recieved. |

Have a read online of the reviews on them, I looked into them for my house, they are good if it's close to the source, rubbish through walls and distance.

It's 10-12 feet max and will have to go through a ceiling/floor. I read with a couple it you can get them aligned correctly they are good.
I live in a relatively modern house (1960's) and all the internal walls are plasterboard with the cr@ppy carboard honeycomb inbetween, only the external walls are brick |

You could always try a hdmi to ethernet converter and use your existing power supply as a network to send the signal round your house. Convert it back to HDMI again behind your TV and plug it straight in. (Must admit I don't know if the signal will be copy protected though...)
You have a large plug in each socket which has an ethernet port on it too. I use them all over my house for data. Works like a charm... I have a variant of these: http://www.tesco.com/direct/devolo-d...FfOhtAodGnUAJw

Do these actually work even when they are on different loops (I.e upstairs/Downstairs)??

As far as I know, everything on the inside of the circuit board is counted as one network, irrespective of loops... I've even got the shed wired up with a crappy TV and XBMC on a Raspberry Pi.

Re: OMO - Video Senders - Preferably wireless
Is this going to be pricey and I imagine Ethernet to HDMI converters are expensive. Secondly my tivo only has one HDMI out as far as I know and I assume doing it this way will mean the remote woun't work in the second room.
