Default Ride to west Wales

Hopefully a dry ride down to my sister's place tomorrow. I have a Garmin watch for her and it seemed like a good excuse to ride down and deliver it. Not been down there on the bike for a while and I'm hoping all the bank holiday traffic has buggered off home.

Early start I think, with a stop at Morrisons in Aberystwyth for breakfast. I'm looking forward to having a bit more of a ride than just running into town for various errands.

Well! That was a ride of two halves to paraphrase someone famous (can't remember who!).

Ride down in the rain pretty much all the way. Traffic - camper vans, caravans, lorries, and bloody 35mph old codgers. Stopped for breakfast at Morrisons in Aberystwyth as planned. About a 3 hour ride there, and despite weather and traffic, it was a nice enough ride, wrapped up as I was in proper weatherproof kit.

The ride back was much better. Sunshine almost all the way, and much less traffic. Very nice.

Why are there so many nobbers with fragile egos and personalised number plates driving BMW cars?

It was pretty good Mike, and nice to see my sis and BiL, and a couple of my nephews.

The bike is filthy now though, so I shall have to get out and clean it shortly.
