Re: Best Ride out routes for the Pennine Massive
Rivington Barn to Devils Bridge - Route #2
A - Rivington Barn B - Belmont > Egerton Rd > Stones Bank Rd > B6391 C - Chapeltown > A6177 D - Haslingden > A680 E - Rising Bridge F - Simonstone > Sabden G - Clitheroe > B6478 H - Slaidburn I - Burton in Lonsdale > A687 > A683 J - Devils Bridge This is a bit more round the houses but between C and D is a great road can really get some speed up. And between Slaidburn and Burton in Lonsdale is a single track road that feels like youre in the middle of nowhere Again just over 60 miles and should take you about 2.5 hours unless youre really shifting

Re: Best Ride out routes for the Pennine Massive
I cannot be doing with Peeing about with maps.
But to amend routes above to what I prefer Don't go into Ribchester, instead turn up gallows lane and then through Hurst Green to Waddington, Newton, Slaidburn. Then though to Stephen Moor, over past Pete's grandpa's Bench to Keasdon, Clapham and then the nasty A65 to the Bridge or over to the ribblehead/hawes etc. Back from the Bridge through Arkholme to Caton. Then over Quernmoore towards Bay Horse and then over the bit of fell to Oakenclough and take your choice to either drop down Claughton-on-Brock, Inglewhite, Longridge or via Chipping toward Longridge, then over Jeffrey to Ribchester and back with a quick A59 blast.
