Mirrors
Hi,
My naked SV650 (2000) stock mirrors are a tad loose, and swing towards me when driving above 50 mph. Anyone got any tips as to stiffening them? I've tried tightening both of the locknuts that attach each of the mirrors to the handlebar, but this doesnt seemto affect the freeplay in the section above the nuts, where the mirrors adjust. Alternatively, anyone know where I'd go to purchase a new set (alloy finish, round style) - assuming that this isn't normal anyway? Cheers, Steve |

Assuming they are the standard mirrors, carefully lever out the black plastic caps at the top of the brackets, and gently tighten the nut underneath, just a quarter/half turn or so at a time, this sets the level of friction needed to move the mirror.
You'll need a thin walled socket to fit in the recess that the nut is in, I use a 1/4" drive socket.
