Fitting MIVV exhaust w/collector
So I got a good deal on a MIVV exhaust with collector kit for my SV650 SK6. I wasn't keen on cutting the original so this seemed like a great idea.
I used my patience and got all the bolts off cleanly with a good bit of penetrating oil (my new best friend). I managed to loosen the horribly placed clamp by the rear header pipe and that one seems to be moving fairly freely (win). However the one by the front header is stuck as anything. I then decided to just take the front header pipe off completely, both bolts (to my surprise) came out ok but still no movement. Haynes manual suggests that you just 'pull' and it comes off, are they particularly hopeful? Do I just have to hit hit harder? Any tips/ideas on how to get the damn thing off? Also once front header pipe is off I believe I need to replace the gasket there - how do I find the part number for this and it's called a 'manifold gasket' right? |

It will come out, i cant remember how i got mine out, but it was a pig.
maybe a block of wood behind the header pipe just to lever it off.

Thanks, that's reassuring, I guess I'll grab a block of wood and keep at it

there are two bolts under the bike that hold the collectors on. one on both sides.

Yes, don't forget to take those off! Even so, mine was difficult to get off.

Yeah I definately got all those off, tbh the collector moves about 1cm if I push/pull hard on the exhaust so I'm fairly sure everything is free. Will be home soon with a piece of wood for another go
