Just found an untested job lot on the bay quite cheap, it's mostly disc cameras and Canon EOS things, but hidden in there is a black Pentax possibly a Spotmatic. I doubt I'll win it but worth a go. Got some M42 lenses in need of a home.

I'm re-doing my camera inventory as I have donated quite a few out. I'm up to 146 so far and that doesn't include the three eighty litre storage tubs yet.

One tub left and 235 cameras counted! JR, I have a Konica Auto S2 and the shutter speed selector is really stiff. Any thoughts on how to tackle? I'm guessing I have to remove the lens and filter ring.

I should think so, it's often that the flowery ring has been screwed too tight. Is it tight when you adjust it in both directions though?

I had a dig into it, I'm not the first to have been in there. The wires for the cds sensor have been snapped off, I could resolder them but I don't know which way round they go. There were scratches all over the retaining ring, and the shutter speed click lever is missing. I've freed off the speed ring somewhat but it's not perfect. Oh, and the whole lens barrel was loose and needed nipping up in the film chamber. You would have cried seeing inside as I know the S2 is your fave!

The CdS wires shouldn't be a big deal, the detent (click) lever is a problem though, and could be because the rest is knackered. Does it work at all, do you know? I have a bag of bits, I doubt the lever is in there, but I could have a look, it's from a Beauty Lightomatic. Or you could be the next hippest gunslinger out there, never mind de-clicking the aperture, do the speeds as well! 1/57th of a second can be yours!

Yeah, the speeds and aperture all work, just not auto mode. Its probably why its tight, as the clicker is missing it stops it moving too far.

I've also got a Yashica Lynx 5000 to work on, something is sticking out of the side of the lens barrel and the shutter won't set.

I managed to make a working Lynx 5000 out of two. It's not 100% but I think it will be enough to get a photo from it. The main issue was the shutter wouldn't release unless I mashed the button. With the top off I tweaked the adjustment on the release stem and now it works. Nicked the rangefinder off the other body, but oddly enough the detent arm for the shutter speed ring is missing from both cameras. Also I may or may not have ordered a Graflex Miniature Speed Graphic with 6x9 film back....
