Default Good grief

The government want all school kids to sing this on June 25th to celebrate OBON (?) it stands for One Britain One Nation (I looked it up).

https://twitter.com/PoliticsForAlI/s...85635762081809

If it was aimed at Scotland's children, they break up for Summer June 25th - I'm sure they'll want to sing this as they rush into their holidays.

Historically, when things are going bad for a country, they turn to patriotism. Just sayin'.

Well they can feck right off, and when they get there, they can feck off some more.
Knobheads.

Can't see that going down too well here in Wales.

This is all getting disturbingly reminiscent of 1930s Germany. Demonisation of various groups of people, flags, "patriotic" songs, a largely uncritical media.

It's like something the Simpsons would dream up. For what it's worth, I doubt it'll go down well in England, either.

As an Englishman, living in England, with 3 kids.
I can't imagine for one second that any of mine would sing anything, let alone this.

Has our government lost it's mind?

i think you will be surprised at the amount of morons who will participate.

the powers that be must be wanting to divert the public attention (which is not hard).

I was under the impression that Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning not an instruction manual.

Wonder the consultancy fees the tax payer paid on composing such complex, lengthy and deep lyrics.

I for one think they should invest a few million more coming up with a snazzy marching jig and special wave. Perhaps some arm bands to wear over school uniforms?

I've just read the intention is about tolerance of others, it sounds very much the opposite!

I also smelt fake news however either the DfE have been duped too or it's legit. I seem to remember some vaguely racist 'British Values' being demanded to be taught in schools.
