Default Pillion Grab Rail securing Nut screwed :( Solutions?

One of the two bolts that hold my grab rail in doesn't screw into the subframe, and as aresult, the handle is only held in on one side. Now I've recently had a problem with the entire tail as in the rack i had secured in place of the rail cracked the fairing from vibrating too much. So, i'm guessing this has also destroyed the thread

Now something needs to be attached to allow the pillion seat to hook underneath; I was thinking infills from a Seat cowl possibly?

Or are there any other ways to rectify the problem, other than some kind of old fashioned 'that'll do' solutions?

If you can access the inside of the subframe just get a longer bolt and a new nut, preferably a nylock, and just screw the longer bolt into the nut. A helicoil would be a better solution if you have acces to the tools but anew nut and bolt will be cheap as chips. Go to a fastern factor and use zinc plated 8.8 bolt.

There is another OCUK'r here too!

Helicoil the subframe is your best best, make sure you put in it right otherwise it is a pig to get out again.

As an update to this, I went for the longer bolt option and it worked fine Took all of about 5 minutes

Also, So many OCUK'ers Maybe this is why they were moaning about all the SV's in Bike chat
