Default Resurfacing Snake Pass

Just a heads up that they're resurfacing the first part of the Snake Pass (from the Glossop end). I don't know how long they're taking over it but I'm sure it will be lovely when it's done and full of double-white lines and more 'Bikers are going to die on this road' signs

Wouldn't that have been a bummer?! 10 MPH all the way with the tyres gripping the wriggly, gravelly bits on the non-surface. Gawd I hate resurfacing!

They are supposed to be fitting new lower bikerfriendly armco and shell grip according to the paper didnt realise they were resurfacing the whole lot. are they resurfacing in chippings or tarmac? and its double white lines anyway lol

Either way resurfacing is good after a couple of weeks tarmac or chippings.

I rode over it last week without knowing about the resurfacing - at that point, they'd took the top layer off completely, so they must be relaying properly rather than surface dressing it.

its a 40mm wearing course inlay, and its SMA because thats all the HA use now, well thin surfacings anyway but they more or less spec everything else out.

shell grip on some of the tighter steeper sections,

but dont go thinking shell grip is the muts nuts...........
