Default Bike magazine.........Sv650 v ER6

Just had this months Bike magazine drop through the letterbox, and there's an article comparing the Sv with the ER6.

Won't go into long, boring detail, but the upshot seems to be that the SV is slightly better at most things, but the ER6 is more comfortable. The SV is also cheaper, and a lower insurance group.

Basically, it seems that the ER6 is the 'sensible' choice.

Well, who the Hell wants to be sensible

And the ER6 is pig ugly too

Went to my dealer yesterday, they are selling ER6's at a ratio of 6:1 against SV's.

What with being cheaper to start with, 4 year warrentee for extra £135, BT020 tyres..

Ugly is the new cool

Can't help thinking that opinions offered on here are going to be a bit one-eyed. As written above, the public are voting with their feet.

The ER6 is a new design and new bike whereas the SV, like my Hornet, is basically an old design. One SV looks very much like another of the same shape; the ER6 is still comparatively rare and therefore different. It's therefore cool, too.

Ugly and rare must be the way to go

Seen one SV seen 'em all.
The problem with having such a popular bike is that they will one day fall out of favour with the masses.
I think the the ER6 is sooo ugly it's cool, if I had the inclination for another bike in the same budget category as the SV, I'd have the ER6f.
