Re: Vintage film cameras
Not looking for anything special. Whatever you feel is a fair swop.
No rush; have a think about it Gives me time to film test the SRT to make sure it's all working fine. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I'll have a ponder. I do have a spare Pentax MX body kicking around.

Kiev, to satisfy yoko's musings? Not that I know how much an SRT is worth.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I did consider that, but the spare I have its untested after I straightened out the shutter. Plus it's the metered version. I do have a non-meteted model but it's one I rebuilt to repair the rangefinder, again it's untested.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've been looking out for a Centon K100 for some bizarre reason and managed to find one on the bay for £12. Couldn't really tell what lens was fitted as it was covered by a lens hood. Well it arrived today and was poorly wrapped, no bubble wrap or anything. Just plastic and brown tape! I'm annoyed by this point and pray its undamaged and start thinking about the message I will be sending the seller. I cut it open and it had a nice red Pentax strap, bonus! Body came out next and thankfully undamaged. The lens was in a small plastic bag on its own. I tip the lens out and take a look, hmm Pentax SMC A. Nice surprise! Then I see 50mm f1.4 Holy crap I've wanted one of these for ages but could never justify the price tag. This will be going on to my MX or maybe the Program A. Overall a nice and lucky buy.

A nice surprise there. It's even got a skylight on it

Re: Vintage film cameras
Good score! Forgive me father for I have picked up another Zeiss Contessamat, pretty cheap so will clean it up and flog it on. Seller hasn't sent it yet, am wondering whether they understood they'd put in on for a BIN only and not an auction. It's the SBE which was the top, and the last, of the line, and just oozes quality as a lump of brass and chrome when it's in your hand. Not winding on which should be the cokking rack under the top cover having skipped a tooth.

Re: Vintage film cameras
So will you keep it or flip it? I've been arguing with my car port roof this evening. Had to cut a hole out to allow the plumber access when putting in our new boiler and just got around to fixing it. The two new panels I bought from Wickes are 600mm wide and I didn't realise until 15 mins before they shut tonight that I needed 800mm wide. Its back together but I need and extra panel to make up the difference. Its three panels back, as fhe first two are cut for the soil pipe and drain pipe. So I've loosely attached them so I can slip in the missing bit. The 1.4 looks better on the Program A, plus I can take advantage of the auto mode.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Great big bits of glass always look good. If you're asking about me, I'll sell the Contessamat (now dispatched), I have a fair few needing a bit of tickling ,and I may as well see to them in due time and punt them out before Christmas. I have a soft spot for this model as it's the first RF I bought before the madness descended, but it is a lovely thing. While the Tessar does need a bit of a tailwind, it's so good to use and small, it makes you want to get on and take some pics. An opulent era of chrome and fiddly bits.
