help with uni project
Hey Guys,
I need help to come up with an idea for a project. Basically I have to design a gadget that will help to reduce your electric bills in the house/ flat. If anyone has any ideas, i would really appreciate it!

Plugs which have a built in timer in them.
Set the time when power is on, and set the time power is cut. Initial cost may be higher, but could pay for itself as years go on. |

Plug sockets with a coin slot on them, kinda like those pre pay TV's you get abroad, but actually built into the socket. Stick them into kids bedrooms and you've just cut down the use of their TV/HiFi/PC/Xbox etc.

Re: help with uni project
Well, we're all being told not to leave appliances on 'standby', so invent a standby 'standby', which will switch the appliance off completely after say an hour.

There was a plug board that did that on Dragons Den a few years back... Old news, old hat!

there are still people who come up with new stuff, so not all things have been invented.
