Re: Smoking
Completely missed what was said but thats ok.
Just thought of another question while people are about. Haynes shows the rear downpipes off when removing the swing arm. I do not even want to try with the motard system as some of the bolts look like they may just blow away if i touch them. Question was can it be down but leaving the rear downpipes on? |

Re: Smoking
Well sod the swing arm i took the easy option just bent a brush and another tone of cr*p came out from all the little hidey holes back there.
ill get some pics later today but atm: -cant remember if i said id stripped all electrics but i did ( promis ) -cleaned the clocks and switched the internals to mph ones. -carbs came off ( me and my dad lifted the bike off the ground by them, so much for ease out bloody Haynes!!!!!) -Carbs drained and all cleaned externally -subframe off sanded de-rusted and rust protected, primed up and sprayed -one of the rear heat shields de-rusted and sprayed with high temp paint. -just got nice big lump of red rubber grease to do all the various seals here and there as the time comes. Should be putting the subframe, carbs and electrics back on later today. possibly cooling system aswell but might wait till the front ends done for that. Also later in the week we have front end removal, clean the forks, stations, re-grease head stock, fit new lock set and im going with polished forks as they will look funtastique! |

Re: Smoking
Never thought of that....Why put holes in it though....holes that are bound to fill up with just about everything on the road!...holes you can get to unless you removing the suspension.
