How about having an org event later in the year, a social gathering and call it

The Andrew Reeder Memorial Weekend 2012.

Just a small thought, thats all
I understand the sentament but (and speaking entierly for myself) I prefer to deal with these things here and now then move on to remember him fondly. A memorial event futher along in the calender will only suceed to extend the sadness.

I cried like a girl last night (no offense girls), I rode to work this making no manouver I didnt have to make. I'll be tipping him out a drink this evening and then thats me done.
He made sure everyone laughed as often as possible and never brought a bad thought from anyone he'd be humbled by the response from those he knew but he'd be heartbroken that we're all so upset.

I think everyone needs to deal with incidents like this in their own way.

For those who really knew him I know the pain will never really go away, but, everyone needs to do what is best for them.

We can have a memorial ride out to remember him, but, no-one should put off their mourning till then

I think you miss the point Matt......secrets in the initials....a play on words

It was merely a suggestion, I think it would be a celebration rather than an extension of grief.

Anyway. Obviously not one of my better suggestions then.

This is such sad news.

I thought Reeder was a legend on this site and came across as a thoroughly decent and cheeky young man. He showed a lot of empathy and was always friendly as well as humorous. He really will be missed

Another one of those people I can't say I knew but I knew OF, far too sad. As bikers we all understand the risks (some even do it FOR the risks) but it doesn't lessen the emotional blow when something like this happens. Known to eachother or not, we are all bound by the same thread, we all feel when it gets tugged, no matter how distant. RIP

Likewise, definitely a good idea. I must admit my first thought was a ride to Andrew's funeral but like Wideboy says it might not be the done thing for his family. The AR would be a suitable tribute.

Were he to read this now, I am pretty sure that he would be hugely touched by the depth of feeling expressed for one of our favourite Org Clowns. It is so sad that it takes an event like this to make us realise just how much a part of our lives that a random (and in his case, very random! Love you really Reeder! XXX) stranger can be. Bless him and his laugh at life approach to being himself.
