Used the kill switch now the bike wont start
And before you say turn the switch back I have.......
Was running the track bike up yesterday in the garage and for some reason (dont usually) used the kill switch to stop it. Today I tried to start it and all it did was turn over and over and over. Flicked the switch to the off position and it did what it was supposed to, i.e wouldn't turn over. Took the tank off and checked the rear plug for a spark and theres one there which really threw me. Any ideas would be greatfully received? Thanks in advance. Drinky |

Just point out its a track bike, most of the wiring has been cut out, no clutch switch fitted. Checked the fuses I could see..

Re: Used the kill switch now the bike wont start
The battery is fine, loads of power etc, I'm drawn to the switch, but if its knackered would it still allow the engine to turn? If aia turn it to the kill position the engine is totally dead, if its in the 'run' position the engine turns over and theres a spark.
Just dont add up to me. It seems really strange that its happened straight after using the kill switch. |

If theres electricity, spark and the motor is turning over but not starting then i'd be more inclined to start looking at your fuel system.

Re: Used the kill switch now the bike wont start
I'm thinking that way myself, I've checked the fuel lines and all seem to be attached, the fuel was low but have just put a gallon in. Its a bloody mystery. When I pulled the rear plug out it did seem to be a bit on the dry side given that I'd spent 5 minutes trying to get it going.

Just about to say that. Sounds like it might be out of juice. If it has a fuel tap check it's in the right position.
