Went to a Mountain Bike event at Hopton castle near Clun in Shropshire on sunday with my daughter. She wasn't taking part but her boyfriend was. It gave me the chance to practise on fast moving subjects and test the new EFS 55-250 (well I say new, it was a £50 bargain off fleabay)

Went for a bimble on Sunday through the Cotswolds. Bourton was rammed full of people and although the place is pretty with the stream running through the middle I'm not sure why it has such a tourist draw. Wandered over towards Banbury before turning for home on my round trip and ended up at the Victorian replacement for the older (destroyed by Puritans) Banbury Cross. Anyone remember the nursery rhyme? There is a statue to it beside the Cross.

Bourton is gorgeous of you can get it without the tourists (try a week day this time of year). I'd suggest you also try the Slaughters.
