Default Insurance Recognised Advanced Training

I'm looking to do some advanced training, my dad is interested too.

Passed in January and have been riding almost every day without fail since including commuting every day so would like to think my skills have been picked up quickly but I'd imagine I'd certainly benefit from a skilled rider giving me some pointers / assessing my habits.

Wouldn't like to go as far as sitting an advanced test like IAM etc but would like some sort of certification (for willy waving / insurance purposes )

BikeSafe seems to be fairly popular - I am going to do it later this year with North Yorks Police. It seems to be recognised by most insurance companies aswell!

The problem is, the insurance companies that offer a discount for such things, are normally more expensive in the first place.

Either Ride or Bike magazine done a feature trying to reduce insurance and they found that the advanced training only gave a 2/3% reduction, but then you shouldn't do it for the money should you.

No, the money was a wanted side effect really. The training is obviously more important.

That 2/3% is probably for a more experienced rider, I'd imagine it would help someone with 0 ncb more
