Default Which would be faster

The definative which is faster Poll.

Twisty A road, mixture of fast sweepers, short straights and tight hairpin bends. Assume both riders are of equal ability and road knowledge. Riders are not racing each other, but are run one at a time, against the clock.

Which is Faster ?

One of the later batch of SS600 bikes or an SV.

I'm going to run this poll on the GSXR forum I'm a member off to, I'm curious as to how different the results will be.

Where's the R1200GS option

Actually I'd say nothing in it if the straights are short. Edit, mind you SS600s come with better stock suspension I suppose which will make a big difference.

Riders of the same ability, one on a 600 il4 with 30 more bhp and one on a heavier SV with 70bhp, i'm affraid the SV would probly be left behind.

On a straight road, without a doubt. But in the twisties? not so sure. Remember the SV puts its power on lower down the rev range so the extra bhp on the IL4 that it has wont even come into it since its usually available at the top end and at the higher speeds.

It will come down to the handling and the SV is as competent a bike as a SS. Ive outdone a Fazer thou and CBR6 on a track simply because the SV is a tighter turning bike.

I dont think this is actually that clear cut that the ss would win hands down. I agree with Dr Rich that there wouldnt be much in it at all.

I believe that proper use of the gearbox can assist in this situation
