Recommend ride outs in and around Yorkshire please.

I sometimes have a couple of hours spare after work / or at the weekend when I'd like to ride out somewhere.

I would be obliged if members could post some good rideouts for in and around Yorkshire please.

Anything around 1-2 hrs / 2-4hrs / and more would be great.

Buy an OS map or two and go out exploring - seriously! You've got a LOT of marvellous territory on your doorstep waiting for YOU to discover it.

Thanks mate but it'd be useful to hear from members who have ridden some routes.

After a day at work I don't want to be messing around with an OS map and compass. Hiking boots, green woolly socks, anoraks and motorbikes. Is there a link I'm missing

the pennine massive section

A few obvious ones for starters:

Stokesley - Helmsley road.

Yarm - Scorton road

Richmond - Leyburn

Leyburn- Hawes

Hawes - Ribble Head - Settle - Grassington - Pately Bridge - Ripon - Masham - Leyburn.

Otley - Pately Bridge.

A6 kendal to shap, penrith to Alston over Hartside (yahoo) and then onto hexam A686, alston to Brampton A689 , Alston to Barnard castle B6277 (lovely) ,Alston to bishop aukland A689 tother way, A684 full length leeming to kendal, a683 from kirkby lonsdale to kirkby stephen, B6479 Settle to ribblehead (challenging and tricky) A592 over kirkstone pass from windemere to penrith goes around ullswater fantastic scenic run indeed. (should have been part of the AR Route for deffo.

so mate point your bike at any of the roads in the area and Enjoy

Seconded, even with a horrible hangover, 33bhp and very tired it was a very enjoyable get into route.
