1999 SV650s For Sale (FSH, 21k Miles)

I will be putting my 1999 SV650s up for sale on bike trader shortly. Before it goes live I wanted to pop it on here first to let other forum members have a look and make me an offer if they want to!



I've tried to be as honest and thorough as possible with the following info, but please PM me or pop round if you have any other questions. There's some photos in my profile, plus a few below too.

I've had this bike since late 2010 and it has been a great bike to own and ride. It has been very reliable and has only let me down once (intermittent cut-out traced to a mis-adjusted throttle idle - see my forum history for more info), which was a free, simple and easy fix!

It came with FSH in late 2010 with around 17k miles on the clock, and it is at 21k now. During the last few years it has been home serviced with about three oil and filter changes, new front hoses and pads, new plugs (iridium) and a new front tyre (about 200 miles ago). I should have receipts for everything.

The only things I have added to the bike are new headlight bulbs, a new tinted screen (still got the original too although one of the fixing holes is cracked), Hein Gericke heated grips, carbon yoke protector, R&G crash bungs (second hand off ebay) and a titanium push-rod for the external gear linkage.

It had a drop at a set of lights in mid 2011 (foot slipped on some engine oil from a van), although I caught it before it hit the floor. However, the push-rod on the external gear selector bent slightly, so I replaced it with a titanium one which was a perfect fit/replacement.

It is in good condition for its age, but it does have a few scrapes and scuffs. The most obvious ones are as follows (I am being really picky and honest with these by the way!):

> Scratch on tank - has been painted over by a previous owner.
> Slight scuffs on bar ends.
> Small (5mm) bit of paint taken off the rear fairing (just popped off when removing gaffer tape).
> Mis-matched mirrors - I think the bike may have had a previous life doing loads of filtering because the mirrors are not the same and are a bit scratched. There's no other obvious damage to point to a fall etc. so I think it is just filtering damage maybe.
> Slight scratch on one engine cover - this is quite low down so is possibly a scrape from a kerb or something silimar.
> There may be a few more cosmetic things, but I'd really urge anyone to pop round and have a look yourself if you are keen.

It came with a lower fairing, but I tend to take this off over summer. It is on the bike at the moment, although I'd probably take it off for viewing etc., so people can see the engine. The lower fairing could do with some filling and painting to make it look 100%, but it looks in reasonable condition.

Mechanically the bike is brilliant. There are the usual v-twin noises but nothing alarming and it has just sailed through an MOT this weekend (done at CMC Clay Cross) on 08/06/13 with no problems or advisories. It is taxed until the end of August.

It rides great, and has never failed to start or broken down or anything like that.

I'd be advertising it for £1400-£1450 but I would be looking for £1300-£1350 sale price. However, if it is going to a forum member then I'd be looking to give them the best price I can. I am selling this to try something different because I have always had twin cylinder bikes - time for an inline 4 I think!

Oh - I have polished the down pipes recently too, so it has lost the lovely brown tinge shown in the photos!!

Also, forgot to say I'd possibly be up for swap for a 600 inline 4 maybe - give me a shout if you have something I may be interested in (CBR600, ZX-6R, GSX-R600 with under 25k on clock).
