And now for something completely different.....
A rather odd post but thought some people might enjoy a look anyway.
I've just got back from holiday (no they aren't my holiday snaps! :P) and a friend asked if I wanted to go out for a photo trip, we had decided on a technique and wanted a location, we found one. Pretty damn cool if I do say so myself. as a first effort I think they turned out rather well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brettne...7622043806298/ Been playing with lightroom and processing them over the weekend, interesting stuff. (if you like that kind of thing I guess) Anyhoo, ego massage over, hope some of you like them anyway.

I like em mate. Like an ultra modern interpretation of Piccasso's attempts at painting with light.
Nice work. https://www2.evergreen.edu/wikis/med...htpainting.jpg

What were you using as your light sources? I had a little play with this a while ago. I like your results though. Nice!

Re: And now for something completely different.....
Thanks for the comments guys, the lights were whatever cheap LED lit tat we could lay our hands on, light wands, LED torches and the most spectacular effect is wire wool of all things.
effectively these are just slow shutter pictures of geeks dicking around in an abandoned building with lights LOL but they look pretty cool. Ruiner was one I wanted to take to give a basic take on light painting, lighting up a structure/object as you wish over the course of the exposure. Looks rather unimpressive next to the brightly coloured other ones but I still like it.

Very nice - funnily enough I only saw this type of effect for the first time last week -

The lightroom test one is unedited. I was testing an upload script from lightroom so didn't edit the picture and was going to remove it but then got my first and only comment on an image LOL. Quote:
My early test images: As you can see I didn't expect this one to work as well as it did, given that I'm stood there in pyjamas and slippers LOL doh!

How did you get the effect of sparks bouncing off the ground?

Re: And now for something completely different.....
Simply put, we threw sparks at the ground. We used wire wool on a length of wire, used a 9v battery to short circuit it and instant sparky stuff!
