Default No Power / Fuel from Breather Hose

Hi all,

No power on way home from work today, felt like it running on one cylinder or something? Like when gasket goes on a car? Anyhow I started to dismantle thinking the plugs might have gone/be wet etc but noticed fuel coming from the breather hose on right hand side. Traced the breather back to a junction to which one split goes into the fuel tank and one into where you put coolant in which seems a bit odd? Anyway is this the culprit for the loss of power and how can i fix it?

Thanks

That hose is just the overflow for the coolant and also links to the water drain under the fuel cap - that's the pipe coming out the back of the tank.

In normal circumstances you shouldn't get fuel out the hose (unless the pipe running through the tank has rotted) but I suspect you probably propped up the tank with a fair bit of fuel in it and some has leaked past the cap and down the drain hole.

You say you thought the plugs might be wet? If it was raining where you are, and it's your front cylinder that's gone, then that's the first thing I'd be looking at on the SV.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I lifted the tank and it was full which is most likely what has caused the leakage! I looked in the carbs and in the front on the needle looks like its getting stuck? and when i put my hand over the front one the engine cuts out, whereas over the back one it doesn't, but my hand gets covered in fuel on the front one?
