Default Bottom yoke twist?

Did something really stupid involving using the back of a stationary car as a brake.

Managed to bend the fork stanchions, which I've replaced.
Other issues: noticeable hesitation moving the steering from central. Goosed head bearings?
When offering the repaired forks back through the yokes, they don't align. Both sides make the stanchion tops hit the top yoke (differing amounts on each side, but both contact the front of the top yoke)

How likely is it that the bottom yoke is twisted?

Can they be un twisted?

And did anyone know a good mobile mechanic in the Chester area to come and change my head bearings?

I am new to Svs so my product knowledge is limited but generally it is possible to damage the bottom yoke.
There are lots of 2nd hand ones on Fleabay which would probably be a quicker cheaper option than having your's repaired. Re the head bearings, if you are competent enough to change the forks then replacing the bearings ought to in your skill set, it is not difficult. Have a search on Youtube

As above, but maybe your head bearings dont need completely replacing. If you get a replacement bottom yoke, then just buy a new bottom bearing and take it to your nearest shop and get them to press it on to the yoke, the top bearing just drops in. Then you could fit the top and bottom yokes and see if the headstock races are notched? I would doubt it.

If they are then the bottom one is simple enough to punch out, top ones more awkward. You can make a press to put the new races into the headstock. Top tip here, warm the bottom of the headstock with a heat gun or cloth drenched in boiling water, and frezze the race ovrnight, then it pops in easily. Do the same for the top..

But its a good opportunity to fit taper head bearings.

if you need to force forks through yokes or dont line up then they are bent.

all is not lost as you can have them straightened. http://www.motoliner.com/motorcycle-...aightening.php

front end impact will usually destroy the races and bearings.

Thanks guys, had a look at a few instructional videos, seems easy enough. Least I won't have the major trouble of getting the bearing off the lower.
