Default Thank you orgers!

Hey all,

having read all the posts in this thread, I decided to buy myself a Scottoiler today, hopefully I'll not be spending too much time out in the frost or rain on my knees this winter, which would have been likely had I not read the great endorsements in that thread.

Yeah thanks to that thread, I am also £70 poorer .... but my bike is a Scottoiler richer !!

A big thanks to the person that posted the 'Oxford heated grips' fitting guide too .....although I am now another £36 poorer ...... and I've not fitted them yet ........ I feel that the guide is going to make my life a hell of a lot easier - nice one !!

Er, I would have said don't buy oxford grips, they're a bit poo.

Hein Gerike ones seem to be quite good for a reasonable sum.

lol ....

I haven't been able to find any of those anywhere ....

Anyway - I bagged a new pair of Oxfords for £36, so I'll give them a try ... how hard can it be for them to reliably heat ??

Well in my case they heat perfectly fine when the controllers work, two have failed so far...

Ah ...well, I hope I'm lucky - I can't stand anything that doesn't work properly ..... they'll be sleepless nights !!

There's the guarentee I suppose ..... but surely its only a varible resistor - any 'aftermarket' (B&Q or Maplin) solutions ??

Hahahahahahahahaha, variable resistor

Look up PWM[1] or read the quite recently updated thread all about it http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=138500

Although reading through the wikipedia page it does give a circuit, see http://www.eleinmec.com/article.asp?28

lol .... just read all of that ....

Can't see what all the fuss is about ... I'm going to wire in a dimmer switch, sink it in to my fairing sides, and wrap it in clingfilm - jobs a good-um ...
