Cost of doing business in west is also a problem, western countries have so many more regulations and taxes on business, including environmental and climate protection, which Chinese have ignored up to now.

There are also cultural considerations. We know from ebay that chinese sellers blatantly lie. Apparently that's ok in their culture. I suppose it's an extension of the old image of a salesman making grandiose claims about what they're selling, and you know if you buy you'll never see him again.

Culture is perhaps too strong a word - point being that the chinese don't believe what they're told by salespeople. Perhaps we're too used to a certain level of protection in the west.
