Default anyone help a new rider

passed my test today at the 2nd time, 3 minors, very happy, got the sv650 in the garage and going out in 5 mins to put some good miles on her

now i dont know a great deal about bikes, can anyone give me a once over on basic maintaince on the bike? i live in ingleby barwick and can come to see anyone willing to help

Bike manual would be a great place to start? Alternatively internet is a mind of knowledge (and cr4p as well so use common sense).

Start with read the section on reading the manual fully before applying brute force.

It'll be OK. He said 'basic maintenance'.

As soon as he wants an engine rebuild I'll tell him to go elsewhere.

Im over in Billingham Nick, and as is commonly known not doing anything worth of any note. Im at a wedding on Sunday, but youre welcome to come over and have a chat any time.

thanks for all the offers, think i will head across to great ayton as its a nice ride out there, are you free sunday morning-ish tim?

did about 100 miles today around stokesley, hutton rudby, hilton, yarm etc,

was a good day stayed dry most of the time, really need a double bubble screen for motorway driving i think

do you all get togther alot?

can you recommend any good roads to try out?

Nik, we have on occasion met up quite frequently but then it all goes quiet. At the moment im out of action anyway so im outta the loop.
