Had a couple of AVGs over the years but the shape is wrong for my head. They're too round and press on the front of my skull.

I still recommend the Shoei NXR Gary. Very light and breezy. Can be had for an ok price if you look out for deals or are happy with last years colours too.

Love my AVG, good snug fit and has not slackened off over the years - good ventilation as well.. Sun visor a bit fiddly with gloves on - but hey-ho I never use it anyway, and sun visor tucks well out of the way.

That is exactly the issue I had with my old AGV. It got worse the longer I wore it and left a red mark on my forehead. I ended up removing some of the polystyrene from the shell.

Shoei sell diffent sized cheek and crown pads, so if it's not quite right you can swap them out. That's what I intended to do with mine but it broke in really well to my head shape and has been great since new.

Just looking at Shoei NXR Helmets now Adam. There are quite a few under £300 in a couple of places.

Yep, it actually gets quite painful after a while, even after gently reforming the bit that presses on my forehead.

i was going to replace my GT-Air with the RYD but it looks like they stopped making them. i wanted the RYD as i could get a transitions visor for it.

i think the NXR uses the same visor so if you do get it Gary it will be interesting to hear how you get on with it.

Well, I'm heading up to Yorkshire on Tuesday to meet a mate for a ride, so we're going to Infinity in York first to tryo and hopefully buy a Shoei NXR.
