115 miles 'til fuel light.

Is this bad? I thought 130 was good?? With 15 litres that works out at around 40 MPG, my light flashes routinely at 110-120 miles and goes solid at 130-135, I recently got 135 on 14 litres which is about 44mpg....

I thought 40 to the gallon was pretty good going?

I got 127 - Light for £15, that was with commuting to work & the odd short blast on the M/way.

Quick question about the fuel.
My fuel light has never flashed it starts solid then switches off around 3 -5 mins later then back on and reapeats is this what you guys would call flashing as its never been a faster flash and i've never had a solid fuel light for any more then about 5 minutes. i genrally plan a stop the mintue i see it as it seems inconsistent so i don't take the risk of pushing my luck to find out. should i maybe get someone to check it out as i don't want to be in one of those situations of pushing it home as i live on a hill.

Its not major important to fix but is it worth a look at in case its faulty and the fuel is lower than i think.
i do notic a very small change in the engine note and delvirance of the power which i guess is normal on lower fuel.

Not much mor ei can think of that.

This is my first bike as im only 19 so any guidance would be great.

I believe the curvy & pointy are opposite ways round so the curvy flashes to begin with then goes solid when its really low & the pointy is solid to begin with & flashes at panic stations. I'd say you've never got low enough to make it flash. I wouldn't worry about the light going off after a bit, mines the same. It'll be the fuel splashing around so it thinks its low then its thinks its not if you know what I mean.

Just got back from a 2up ride around the norfolk coast, completing over 160 miles,

Filled up when left, light started flashing at 148 miles, filled up at 158 miles and light still flashing, tank took 13.14ltrs

So from my calculations an average of 19.35 km / ltr or 54.67 mpg

Bike is 2000 curvy, im 210lbs without leathers and pillion is 168lbs

Some quick riding and very twisty b roads so a good mix, no serious hills tho.
