Cleaning the carbs and adjusting the valves
Having an issue with my carbs becoming all gummed up and power loss issues. Wondering how many miles should the valves be re-calibrated and if that is the case why not clean out the carbs.
Want to learn how to do it but is it a technical thing to do. |

Re: Cleaning the carbs and adjusting the valves
The valve clearance should be checked every 15000 miles.
Fairly technical, probably not the best as a first foray into DIY, but if you are careful and methodical no reason why not to try.

Re: Cleaning the carbs and adjusting the valves
I did the valves on my first DIY go as I wanted to do the front CCT and I had no mechanical experience and it was ok with help from here and the manual, although I knackered my carbs when trying to clean the float bowls, still don't know what I did and replaced em with another set. So it can be done but you'll learn as you go along if you know what I mean
