Default "Chec" messege, won't start, clicks

So, I had my bike on in the backyard, then i parked it and turned it off. then I went to turn it on again and it wouldnt go on. I checked all the obvious things. it was in neutral, and I am even holding the clutch. sidestand doesnt need to be up when its in neutral but I tried with it up also. When I hit the starter button, I can hear it clicking over and over, but the engine won't start. The battery is also fine and I checked the oil.

Apart from the "check" message, the oil can is showing in the display, and the red light left of the display is also turning on (this may be because there is no oil pressure since the engine isnt running to begin with.)

Any help will be appreciated,

Thanks

ok, i forgot to mention it in the post, but by all the obvious things, I also put the kill switch into its correct position (and heard the bzzzz noise that it makes for a few seconds after you turn it on)

the cxlick is the starter motor relay, so the switch and related safety features are likely OK - i'd say it's either the starter motor, the starter motor relay or the battery lacks the power to turn it over. when you say thr battery is good, how did you check?

nothing fancy, I checked the headlights and they were as bright as ever, and I rang the Horn for a while. Other than that I suspected it wasnt the battery because It was working perfectly well earlier, no problems at all... otehr than that I am thinking the battery could quite well be a possibility, but what about the "chec" message, would that display when the battery is weak?

ah, no, the check message displays when the bike is in gear and the sidestand is down or the kill switch is on

ok, none of those apply. bike is in neutral, kickstand is up, killswitch is off (in position for bike to be started)

then either one of the connections for the switches isn't working or the ECU is having a brainfade, i'd go with the former

it's 11:15 here so most folk will be in bed by the time you update us, but i'd wager a bad connection on the sidestand switch, try just shorting it out and see if it'll start then
