Millets have some good deals on at the moment. Just picked up a four-person starter kit for £111, inc tent, sleeping bags, double air-bed, mats, etc.

Worth a look

Pay no attention to the price in the brochure - ours was listed at £169

Can be great. I tour on the bike, so volume is critical and tends to put the price up, but if you go by car there's no need to pay premium prices for small package size.

My top tip, get decent airbeds (or for higher budget a Thermarest mattress) and a 12V plug-in compressor. Really does make all the difference. Flat type ones are most comfy, the ones like 4 tubes can be pretty uncomfortable and awkward, bad nights sleep = bad mood.

Some on-line camping places have super clearance deals.

Halfords are doing some good deals, if they have the stock . . .

You might be better off getting 2 tents rather than 1 big one - might be cheaper & less trouble to pack

You can pay a small fortune for 'brand' name tents, but unless you're going to Everest base camp you might as well buy the cheapest

Can't go far wrong with that package at that price
I'm not sure it would last you more than one season, but you might be lucky

All you need now is a campsite - make sure you find one with a pub nearby

Bring it on the annual rideout and you could put the bike in it

Get two tents, one for the kids, one for you, and try to go at least a size bigger if budget allows, Two adults need a 3/4 man tent, preferably with a seperate section ar the front for shoes / wet clothes etc, Also a good idea to let the kids get use to it in your back garden, you'll probably spend the night peeking out the bedroom window to make sure the're ok though, good luck you'll all love it.
