What gets my goat!!!! - What gets your goat???
Door-to-door insurance salesmen. Can't they take a bleedin' hint?
I've had the same guy come around every year trying to sell me the same policy. He came yesterday but I was 'away' and 'busy' then. I was too, I was on the mighty .org so he was asked to try again another time. He was back tonight, caught me off guard this time. I was in the bike shed and he spotted the door open. Aaaargh!!!! Tools down then. We sat in the living room and locked horns. Him determined to sell it, me determined to keep my money in my pocket. All the excuses came out. "Ahh Mr. MacLeod you have a similar policy with our rival. Well, I'd really suggest you reconsider. A lot of people we've spoken to have swapped to ours, so dis-satisfied with that company.....blah, blah.....We guarantee payout without a medical, they don't. I've heard some heart-breaking stories...." "Well, do you have a leaflet I can browse and compare when I'm less busy?" "Sure I'll check the car.....Oh sorry, I must have sold 30 new policies today. There are none left." "Well, I'm not about to sign up without studying it. Maybe next year I'll swap." "Oh, I'd hate to come back next year to find you have cancer or heart attack and not get a payout from them. I'm thinking of your interests here..." "Like I said, I wan't to see it first. Goodbye now." "Well, I hope you're in good health when I see you next year then Mr MacLeod." |

Asking people to do something, then telling them to do the same thing again when it wasn't done correctly the first time....

It was two perverts from Carmarthen that got my goat.
(believe it or not, I originally heard that joke told by a vicar) |
