Default Italian or British for reliabilty?

Just been out to stick the Benelli on charge in case I get chance to use it at the weekend. Given it's not moved a wheel since about early October, I was quite suprised that it fired up first time without needing a charge. Compare that to my previous Triumph, which struggled to start if left for more than a few days at a time.

Hadnt touched my Ducati since mid october last year, fired up straight away last weekend.

My street triple never had any problems either!

Mine was started up after 8 weeks, first time no bother, triumphs rock, Italians are small and inadequate

And they are bloody expensive to service and repair, buy British and help the economy at the same time

It's all a bit tongue in cheek really. Whilst the battery was a bit small on the Sprint, the alarm was the cause of the problems. The Nelli doesn't have one...

A few years ago, I left my Ducati for 3 months over the winter whilst I was in Australia. It fired up first time when I got back. It was just bloody unreliable in other ways.

The Tiger's refused to start on a couple of occasions this winter. That's been down to the battery, and not the general reliability of the bike. My Triumphs have been far more reliable than my Ducati ever was.

I rode my gsx-r through winter (about 1-2 times per week, sometimes more, sometimes less), then after 2 weeks of waiting for good weather it died last weekend.

Thinking of selling it to pay for a canoe.
