Curvy fender extender & hugger

Sick to death of going out for a weekend blast and having to clean the engine with flung up dirt.

So I've bought an extender for twenty quid from pyramid plastics.

Can anyone recommend a rear hugger to stop the same and save the rear shock.

I don't ride in awful weather but I have been caught out on occasion.
Also even when the weather's nice there's always dirt that gets flung up.

I'd rather fit something once and not spend my life cleaning

Managed to find a rear hugger on ebay by a chap that makes them out of fibre glass. Come in black and white gloss. Works well. Replaces he chain gaurd and a great fit.

Works well and looks like original equipment.

Thanks for the research and info.Fender Extender and Rear hugger were two of the firs things I did when I got my Curvy

I can't for the life of me get the images to appear without the link. But you get the idea.
I was just tired of cleaning the underneath in this weather.

Why Suzuki never made the original mud guard a bit longer to protect the exhaust / Oil filter and engine cases I'll never know. I would say cost cutting but I even that seems quite far fetched.

I agree.It was a bad design choice IMHO.

As for images so long as they have the image type suffix like .jpg or.gif at the end then when you click the insert image icon(The Envelope Icon in the Toolkit list above) you have to remove the blue http:// and make the field blank then you can paste the link in.

Also as I use a laptop some pictures don't get autosized so are just to big to bother to look at so on PCs/Laptop I use the free Irfaview photo viewer/editor,

It's so good I donated a fiver years ago to the maker.

If you do ever use it quick-tip for resizing just open a picture and press Ctrl+R

It's a problem with most modern bikes, and the latest Gen 3 SVs are even worse than the curvies / pointies for throwing road wash and dirt everywhere.

The one saving grace is that Suzuki fitted a flap ahead of the rear wheel that protects the ABS unit and rear shock without needing to fit a hugger.

Fortunately its not expensive to fix the problem with independent companies producing solutions.
I mean I don't commute any more by Motorbike but this would be a must have to stop the Suzuki build quality getting any worse!
