Yawn Yawn Yawn. I-pods are cool, they work, they play MP3's (even if itunes dows whatever it does) it looks good, the sound is very good (Although not the best, but thats personal prefrence) simple as really. People have the choice. Say people came on here, said, oh my suspension is rubbish and we replied with, yeah we know, dont buy an sv buy something else instead. Wouldnt quite work.

Annnnnnnnyyyyyywwwwwwaaayyyyyy

If you have MP4a files, you have probably downloaded them from the Itunes store, a pain. However, burn them as audio tracks to a CD, then delete the MP4a tracks, and re-import the cd back into itunes. Fiddly, but works 100%. I have tried a couple of converters and they dont always work, you will also have a back up of the music tracks. I use a CD-RW for this purpose.

Hey, nice one Viney, that works a treat. Saves me having to clutter the PC with even more progs, and only needs doing once.

They do have to be burnt as audio tracks for media player to then rip them direct into mp3 format.........and as you say, you then have a hard copy back-up, and discs are dirt cheap now.

Probably, but the m4a files I have aren't heavily compressed to begin with, and I use a generous mp3 compression so can maintain what quality there is. They certainly sound fine on the Zumo (incidentally, it can only recognise 1000 mp3 files, so with a 4Gb card you can keep the file sizes fairly big anyway).

It'll do the job anyway, I've got other things to worry about! Thanks all!

Youa re saving music files as an MP3 which is far far less than CD quality anyway, so a tiny bit more isnt going to worry...unless youa re running them through a Naim or Lynn system.
