Re: What's my best option for HID?
You could just completely remove the light units reflector and just mount the projector another way

Yes, the whole thing is like a big sphere/cylinder, once it's attached you can rotate it a little to get a perfect straight line (not so much a pattern, but just the angle of the line). |

I like it... Any ideas on how? Just mold a big circular dome or something?

Re: What's my best option for HID?
I'd incorporate it in to the headlights mounting brackets. Just a big O with two sticks on it

How close can the projector be to the front of the headlight unit before it'll start melting it?
And how long do I do this oven thing for to get INTO the unit?

tried the oven method and it didnt work so used the heat gun but you have to be careful as the plastic will soften if you go too mad. |

Re: What's my best option for HID?
Leebex, you probably didn't oven yours for long enough or hot enough.
Mine was in the oven for around 10 to 15 minutes on the highest temperature settings and it came off with ease. Maybe too easy as the glue started to stretch and fly everywhere! :O So a tip for you from my experience. When separating the the plastic housing from the plastic lens, do it a little at a time and do it gently too, don't go pulling like mad like I did. |

Re: What's my best option for HID?
The projector unit gets hot, but not at temperatures high enough to start melting the headlight lens.

Okay. So the actual depth of the inner headlight unit is 8cm, I need 9cm for the hid projector so it won't fit. Any ideas? Here is it mounted with standard bulbs.
Also, any ideas on what to do to wrap up the wiring loom properly and make it look tidy? Or atleast ideas of covering up the sides? I can see right through from one side to another with about an inch or two gap behind the headlight revealing all the wires. Can't move it closer because of the massive speedo!
