Interesting discovery (alarm connector native to loom)
A couple of days ago, I figured I'd pull out the Haynes to look over the diagrams, as my bike seriously needs re-wiring (additional wires, not the stock loom).
Whilst I'm looking at the loom diagram for my bike & sketching various places to tap into feeds, I saw a connector I've never noticed before, labelled "Alarm connector." Turns out that it has an "ignition sense" feed, as well as spark pulse (and I can't remember the other one at the moment). So I ripped the bike apart looking for the connector, and it's behind the headstock, down in front of the airbox. I'll be using that when I'm re-wiring the bike, and the alarm will be moving into the toolkit holder (toolkit under pillion seat), when I get around to re-wiring. Just figured I'd post so that others can find this ingenius plug in future. |

Yeap, on all the K5+. This is for the Meta alarm that Suzuki sell as an official accessory.

Re: Interesting discovery (alarm connector native to loom)
Never knew it was there, until I stumbled across it. It'd of saved some hassle when fitting my alarm if I'd known about it.
For that reason, figured I'd post to let others know. |

Makes it easy to remove when the alarm goes wrong anyway
Doesn't seem too thief proof though, on mine when it had meta alarm they would have slit their wrists with a cold soldering iron out of boredom trying to figure out what was where.

Re: Interesting discovery (alarm connector native to loom)
I remember reading about someone's ingenious wiring where they had wired the electronic open button for their garage in to the bike, as the 'pass' button.
Genius! |
