Default Donington, Spring bank holiday

Donington GP, Monday 27th of May, £139, No Limits.

Any takers?

After a cracking day at Snetterton yesterday (the less said about Cadwell on Sunday the better) I'm itching to get back out on track.

You were there? So was I, I had a great day. I didn't realise or I would have sought you out.

You don't get away with a comment like that, what happened at Cadwell?

I was there Easter Monday, yeah.

Cadwell was just cold, too much so to have any real fun. Snowing during sessions, red flags galore as people went down on cold tyres, just generally rubbish.

I'm dragging mine along, as is a mate who's also going, so they can spend all day waffling to each other about cupcakes and whatever other old rubbish women like.

I'm itching for a wet trackday, if only to justify all the money I spent on a spare set of wheels and a pair of race wets.

Was amazing... truly fantastic and Ron Haslam school worth every penny. Instructors couldn`t be more supportive and encouraging and the grin factor is priceless.

One of the reasons we picked this track day was so we could use the schools bikes and not risk damaging our own. One guy did have a bad off and broke his collar bone.... hate to think how much the repairs would have cost had he been riding his own bike.

Well that was great fun. First session was absolutely abysmal, I've never felt so stiff and awkward on a bike, but that's what riding a KTM with squared tyres every day does for you. Second session was a revelation, as I got dialled in to the bike and started to learn my way round the track. Bright sunshine all day and should be plenty of photos of me with the bike cranked over and my knee planted on the deck.

Itching to do another one now, but it'll have to wait til I get back from the big trip.
