Anyone been to Europe on their SV ?
Would like to know if anyone has made a trip to Europe (Italy) on their sv. What were the highs and lows of the trip, any advice?

Have a look at the Eurotour section. Lots of wisdom there. Witht he journey broken into sensible chunks its a trip to be recommended highly.

Last year there were 7 SV's on the tour, 2 of which were 1000's, 2 pointy 650's and 3 which were "curvies".....
Adam has just come back from a week in the Alps too... . |

I'll be riding to Switzerland, north Italy and south of France on Sunday. Will keep you posted on the highs and lows when I get back.
I would imagine the highs of the journey being the versatility of the SV with an engine that will sit happily at 80 mph all the way to the Alps and provide plenty of grunt once you get to the alpine passes. The lows are the relatively llimited tank range, the head-down/****-up position on long distances and a limited storage capacity when you're taking a tent, sleeping bag, camping stove & fuel, pots, clothes... |

Went over a couple of years ago, it was an excellent trip :P was a bit of a high speed tour, 7 countries in as many days.
Smiler, i've been to northern Italy on my SV the Highs were coming out of mount blanc tunnel and blasting through the hills and villages on my way to Millan. The lows were not being able to find Monza race track for the Superbikes I'm off again this year in July to Germany for the MotoGP and also planning on heading down to the Alps for some avalanche inducing blasts through the mountains. I'm looking to get luggage of some kind, as last time just had a back pack and that got a bit much on the shoulders. Feel free to paticipate with my luggage thread |
