Ya mean a 'nod' as they're called in the trade...

We looked at one a few months back - capacious & comfortable but the styling isn't quite right - might be difficult to get rid of when you come to sell it on.

i rented one in germany just before xmas. wasnt that impressed TBH. it was the 1.6 which had about enough grunt, so i suppose the 1.4 would be a bit lacking. the level of trim, interior etc was nice enough (compared to my clio at any rate), but i would be concerned about the build quality as mercs have taken quite a slating lately in the surveys done by the major car mags and the likes of top gear - the surveys also gave the impression that aftersales support from the dealers leaves a lot to be desired.

A Class Merc? What you need is a ISUZU GEMINI.

Well not all of them.. the smaller engines are a tad under powered.

If you want one get the 1.7(ours) or 1.9 cdi, goes very well, just ask anyone who knows Jax.
60+ mpg.
All the seats come out to give you a completly flat floor on the pre April 2005 models only. If the rear boot had a smaller lip and we owned the N model and not the S you could fix a bike inside. They also do a longer model which would be even better.
The floor also has fixing points to strap things down, and seem to be really reliable. Ours is just coming up to 100000 miles.
With the tiptronic gear select makes town work real easy.

The dealer support we have had was great and not had any problems with the finish considering how much stick the car has had. I'd buy one again, but maybe the 1.9 with air con.

cheerrs folks I appreciate your input..

I have a tiptronic Corsa at the moment and it is a tad too small for some of the deliveries I do ,,
I saw the A clss and thought it didnt look too bad..

I like the idea that all the back seats come out and it sorta is a van then!!..but canbe a nice car for te weekend..

deffo the fuel consumotion is a good point for me..and the ride height and the ease to drive round towns and side streets- cos thats wot I do all day !!!...........................

motorway miles..is it OK?

oh and.,, I like the idea of tie down points,,, not for work- for dogging and kidnapping.

but serious- thanks...

one more Q?..
is it a hairdressers car...??? akin to an MGF or tigra??

yes or no?

Well it is a Diesel, and I manage 130 mile (motorway and some 30 miles town) on about 9 litres... which is 65+ mpg. Aslong as you keep it below 2500rpm, and the tiptronic gear box helps, even stuck in traffic.

Well I've never seen any hair dressers in it?

The high seat height is gear, above most cars but not on the level of a 4x4.

I would use it every day but due to traffic it can add to much time to my journey so I keep to the bike.
