Advice wanted on a sv 1000
I have finally decented to chop my 650 in and i want to get a thou.
i was just hoping that someone could give me a little advice on how diffrent the two bikes are. Obviously we have the power issue but what about brakes, handleing etc . . The reason i decided on the sv 1000 is because i have enjoyed my 650 so much and i love the sound they make. i am looking for something to cover the motorway miles a little easier I am open to other alternatives though if you have any suggestions Also they are such good value for money second hand!! |

Re: Advice wanted on a sv 1000
It's what every 650 wants to be when it grows up
it's a bit heavier and less chuck-about-able, but the rest more than makes up for it, and as you say, they are great value second hand |

Re: Advice wanted on a sv 1000
Initial thoughts for many people are 'disappointment', as it does not seem that much quicker than the 650, however...............
Three things really stand out for me:-

Oh im excited
I was told today that top end is not much quicker than the 650 although it gets there a lot quicker - is this true? I have found a sv1000s k6 with 1700 miles for £4k its black with the black frame too exactly the same as my 650!!! Do you think its a good price? |

Re: Advice wanted on a sv 1000
I think the SV1000 was rated lower than my GSX-R600, which surprised me (sort of - I know it's supposed to be a bit less sporty, etc - but I thought the fact it's a litre bike would override all that!).
