Default Osram Night Racer Headlamps on a Curvy?

Anyone used these on their curvy?

Have just fitted a pair to my bike as I've used them in the past on other bikes and found them to be a bit of an improvement over the standard headlamps.

Just had a thought that the lenses on the curvy seem to be plastic rather than the glass lens I have had on previous bikes.

Anyone used these before and experienced any heat problems affecting the plastic?

Be grateful for any advice.

I can't remember which bulbs they are exactly, night breakers or something I think! Never had a problem with them in my curvy or pointy

I have night breakers in mine, they have been fine for a couple of years now.

The road legal "extra bright" lamps are still only rated at 55 watts, so they don't emit any more heat than standard ones.

Philips X-Treme vision +100% bulbs are another good alternative. I've had them in my last two bikes and the difference over stock bulbs was impressive.

Actually less, more efficient.

Plastic lenses can stand all the heat they'll realistically experience. What knackers them is poor UV shielded bulbs, anything with a known brand name on it will be fine, the bulbs often seen on eBay claiming to be 'xenon HID' etc etc are particularly bad for this. They are usually recognised by having no control gear - an HID light will always have a box of electrical trickery, typically about the size of a fag box - and by being various garish chavvy colours, and being suspiciously very cheap.

Night Racers are spot on!
Changed mine over the winter and they are effective.
