Hi
CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY I HAVE GOT COOLANT IN MY SUMP OIL, OR TELL ME WHERE IT IS LIKELY TO BE COMING FROM? NO STEAM IN EXHAUST SO I ASSUME IT'S NOT GETTING IN TO THE CYLINDERS.... CHEERS

Welcome to the madhouse!

Could be just condensation. Has the bike been standing for a while?

My ZX-7R has a fine condensation mist on the oil window after a week or so standing, and my pointy SV did the same.

oh, and BTW, please turn off the CAPS LOCK!

There was a thread about this a while back, I always think of a blown head gasket when I hear of coolant in the sump.

How much coolant? A guy here in ireland had a freeze plug go and it put coolant directly into his sump (in a TL1000S) -- so this could be the same sort of thing.

Centre section of the photo between the two cam covers, you'll notice the two round core plugs which are sitting over the holes they should be... well... plugging.

The core plugs dont normally go if there is coolant in the system though.

How much coolant? Is the level in the rad dropping noticeably and the "oil" level rising with the water in it?Does the bike run OK?If the levels are not changing, and it runs OK I would suggest it's condensation as stated above and a good long run will burn it off.If it's not that good luck fixing it.
