Seat cowls
straight forward question alert....
looking at the bike below in the for sale section...am I right in assuming that the pillion seat is just under the cowl and that it just needs the rear pegs fitting back on?? |

Re: Seat cowls
no the seat cowl is a replacment for the seat check with the seller and make sure he has the seat and yes the rear footpegs just need putting back on, also check he/she has them.

Re: Seat cowls
cheers, I did think the cowl looked a little low profile to be covering a decent seat

Re: Seat cowls
Seat cowel is a bit of a misnomer really. All that I know of actually clip on in place of the seat (or you get an unopening hump to replace the rear plastics such as race fairings) you can still use the storage, but need to seat as well is you ever want to take a pillion.

Re: Seat cowls
well the question has been asked, I assume you could purchase an aftermarket pillion seat and pegs easily enough, just needs taking into account when settling on a purchase price
wouldn't dare buy a bike that the wifey couldn't join me on, it's been hard enough work trying to convince her to let me buy another |

Re: Seat cowls
You can get black leather pillion seats for the SV650/1000 on eBay, they are under £50 I believe, but then if seller doesn't have the pillion foot rests then your looking at another £40 most likely. Depends if you are going to have a pillion though obv......

Re: Seat cowls
Just had a look the cheapest seat I could find was £32.50 inc Postage.
eBay Item No. 110476104701 If you didnt want the seat cowl though you could sell that for £30 - £40 so it would sort of be a swap money wise. Good Luck! |
