Re: Windows 11
HDR10 and 4k native dont work correctly when plugged up to a 4k tv watching films. so have to resort to using 3rd party apps. win10 does not play 4k/BR discs and again a 3rd party player is required.
also you have to scale for fonts to work properly. not to mention icon compatibility with older apps. xbox has 4k/BR disc compatibility built in so why not win10. yes KODI sorts a lot of the problems if like me your a film buff but its not an OTB solution and takes a lot of configuration. basically Microsoft dont want you watching 4k/BR discs on their operating system. or using older apps. |

Re: Windows 11
I can't say I've tried anything HDR. I haven't had a disc drive for years either. I watch plenty of 4k content though. Can't you rip it then watch it?
I've got mine scaled to 175% and it's fine, but has the option to go up to 350%. Only app I had issues with was photoshop cs2. It's very old though |

Re: Windows 11
I won't be changing from windows 10 until I have to.
Incidentally, can winzip be downloaded for free (apart from the free trial period ) ? |

Re: Windows 11
I have no 3rd party zip tool on my pc and I can unzip/extract stuff from a zipped file by right clicking on it.

We got Libre Office years ago ( it is free download with no ongoing costs ) IMHO it is better than MS Office ( which is now called Office 365 and you have to pay for it, you guessed 'every 365 days' ). Libre reads all Office stuff and allows you to save as office extension .Docx or whatever they use these days ).
