sv650s - comfy?
I've currently got an SV650 (naked)?
I've rest ridden the 'S' model and found it sore on the wrists and lower back. Just wondering if this is something all owners of the 'S' model find or is it just me? Do you find that you get used to it? I've only test ridden the bike for about an hour or so but went for the naked bike as a result. Cheers. Martin. |

agree with amanda - my sv650s is very comfy - go for day rides and I am in no more or less pain than my other half who rides a zzr1200. The R1 rider however struggles to stand up straight after a long ride.
May be cos. I am fairly short - therefore not hunched up on bike that I find it comfy. |

Mornin' all.
I rode mine (old shape) and tested a new shape as well, and found mine more comfortable. Never tried the naked, but don't have any probs with mine. |

Its comfy-ish. I think bottom line is that for the type of bike its on the comfier side. Softies complain of sore backsides, I personally have always had sore wrists but then have never bothered adjusting the controls...I find it depends on how happy/distracted I am Same witht he vibes...I have irritating vibey days, other days when i dont notice.
Myself and Monkey did 600 miles in one day and it was the knees that got to me. For a very comfortable SV buy a V-Strom. |

I found it hard on the wrists and arms at first- but that's probably partly down to my weight-saving lack of muscles. Once I was used to that- took a few hundred miles- I've found it comfier than any other bike I've ridden.

My previous "old fashioned" shape SV was very comfy, rode it from Bolton to Le Mans without any problems. But the new "modern" shape is not that comfy for longer distances, Bolton to Mallory Park (about 130 miles) left me with an aching back and sore ****.
Mrs Mariner also says the pillion position on the new shape is much worse, you sit much higher and more exposed. And as we all know if the pillion ain't comfy .... they take it out on you! |

Frequent clutch operation whilest you have tense arm can easily cause pain in the wrist. I think once you've got used to the bike, and you will start to relax, this problem will gradully go away.
