Jesus. That bike... is seriously, seriously knackered. I would sort of not like to be within 100 meters of that when that happened.

I reckon, having cast an eye over it, that it's broken. Looki at that piston! Bloody hell... Looks like the rod snapped right at the top (though that's kind of a guess, so much damage...) and once that happens it's just game over. Glad it's not my engine...

I can't get the translation to work out, was that a standard motor? Just everyday use? The rods in the injected bikes are a little weaker than in the first generation bikes, but not drastically so. I don't think you all need to start panicking anyway

Hey look at that, an SV doing an impression of a GSXR750.

Northy's right, the rod has broken, probably near the small end eye, and having a whole bunch of momentum behind it has whipped around as the motor spun at high speed. Thank you and goodnight Mr Motor, it was nice knowing you.

It happens, it is in the nature of machines to break, get used to it. Early GSXRs had a bit of a rod weakness, 'specially when racing, and they displayed the classic way of letting go, which is to wait until the bike is wound up good and proper, and then - at enormous speed, just as the throttle is shut, and the con rod goes from being largely in compression to having sizeable tension forces applied to it - snapping, whipping around and cutting an inch wide slot right through the crankcases and liner. Not funny.

If you like this sort of thing go to the strip, you get see some enormous blow ups there.

Feel sorry for the owner as the dealer wants to rebuild rather than replace the engine.

Can't see how that is economic. I am suprised if Suzuki Greece will go with it on a warranty claim

yea that it though, my dad blow a peugoet 2.2 turbo deisel engine.

Well all knew it need replaceing as at £70ph the dealers charge to spend that long on it might as well get a new one, but the warentee people said they wanted it taking apart (took like 5+hours) just so they could go "yep, its broken"

The put new top end on but they spent so much time on it they might as well put a new one in

Is stupid how the warrentees work
