i have often considered getting a gel seat but just can't seem to justify how much they are. are they really that good

i was watching that gel seat on e bay-

I dont like the edge finishes to them to be honest..

I might just uncover and re cover my seat and pop some of that soft contour bedding foam underneath.!

Has anyone ever done a raised seat for an SV? To increase the bum/foot distance without altering the ground clearance (as would happen with lower pegs)? Would this then place too much weight on the wrists?

Me too. 70 miles is about my limit without being in agony. ( maybe its my age.. ). I've considered all the discussions on here regarding improving its comfort such as raising the bars, gel seats etc, but the likelyhood is that I will be offering it for sale this summer, possibly replacing with a naked, see how that goes.

tigersaw, this is probably the only point in which i would sell lil sv. Long touring trips are a no no for me on this. would have to revert back to cbr600 or the like.
